Reporting a problem
Include what you can of the following; it makes problems much faster to fix:
- Device (iPhone, iPad, Mac) and OS version, and the app build number from TestFlight.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- A screenshot, and the data sheet PDF if a value on it looks wrong.
In TestFlight you can also take a screenshot while using the app and choose Share Beta Feedback. Or email a report.
Please don’t send project backups or client data unless we ask. If we need a backup to reproduce a problem, we will agree on what to send first.
Beta FAQ
How do I get into the beta?
Join the waitlist. We send TestFlight invitations in batches, starting with Alaska delineators. You’ll need the free TestFlight app from the App Store.
Which region can I test?
The Alaska Region (ENG Form 6116, SEP 2024, Version 2.0). Tell us your region when you join the waitlist so we know where testers are.
How do I try it without field data?
On the Projects screen choose Load Alaska Sample Project. You get four finished sampling points (a clear wetland, a clear upland and two borderline cases) to explore, plus their data sheets and the report.
Is my data safe in a beta build?
Data is stored only on your device. Beta software can have bugs, so back up projects regularly from Other exports on the Report screen (the backup file can be saved to Files or iCloud Drive) and keep your own field records until you trust the app.
The map is blank in the field.
Map tiles are downloaded, not built in. Before you leave signal, open the project map and use Download Area for the imagery, topo and NWI layers you need.
Voice entry didn’t understand me.
Voice entries are always shown for review before they are added, so nothing is saved without you seeing it. Plant codes (for example “CAAQ forty”) and full scientific names both work. Tell us the phrase that failed; it helps us improve recognition.
Can I move a project to my iPad or Mac?
Yes. Back up the project, send the file (for example with AirDrop) and choose Restore from Backup on the other device.
Will the beta cost anything?
No. Pricing for the release has not been announced; any subscription will be handled by Apple.
